WILL THE AUTHORS OF THE JR. ART DIRECTOR MEME PLEASE STAND UP AND TAKE A BOW?

This is so cool.

A few days ago, I declared my love for this inspiring new meme:

Memes generally come from nowhere and quickly take on a life of their own, so I didn’t spend any time wondering who created it. But I was delighted to learn that there’s only one degree of separation between me and this wonderful bit of industry comedy.

One of the authors is my old chum Jamie Gurnell, an art director formerly of john st. and now with Sid Lee in Montreal.

Jamie’s partner in this venture was another art director, Michael Hagos, who is a recent graduate of the VCU Brandcenter in Richmond, Virginia.

Now, I had assumed that the image was nipped from a stock site, but no! The model was a real, live art director by the name of Stephen Bardwell.

Stephen’s work is on view at www.foureyedfred.com, but a quick Google search of his name turned up this lovely ad:

Awesome work, guys. I wish The One Show gave out pencils for memes.
